227. Старый мост через Обь со стороны посёлка Ильича / The old bridge across the Ob from the side of township of Ilyich
Барнаульский посёлок Ильича широко раскинулся по берегу Оби, севернее старого моста через Обь. Изначально возник этот посёлок вокруг выстроенного здесь кожевенного завода, от которого ныне остались одни руины. В 20-х годах XX века, после установления советской власти, получил своё нынешнее название. Именно в районе посёлка располагалась до строительства железнодорожного моста понтонная переправа через Обь - недаром одна из основных улиц посёлка носит название Понтонный мост. Крайние дома посёлка стоят почти у самой воды, и чтобы добраться до реки их жителям нужно сделать буквально два шага. Впрочем, помимо плюсов в такой ситуации есть и очевидные минусы - во время весенних разливов Оби многие участки посёлка подвергаются подтоплению. А вообще, посёлок Ильича - неплохая иллюстрация того, как исторические процессы за сотню лет превращают пусть не передовой, но достаточно оживлённый и важный район города в практически забытую городскую окраину.
Barnaul township of Ilyich is widely spread along the left bank of the Ob, north of the old bridge across the river. Initially, this township arose around the tannery, from which now there are only ruins. In the 20s of the XX century, after the establishment of Soviet power, township received its current name. In the area of the township was located pontoon crossing across the Ob before the construction of the railway bridge - not without reason one of the main streets of the township is called the Pontoon Bridge. The uttermost houses of the township are almost at the very water, and to get to the river their residents need to take literally two steps. However, in addition to the pros in this situation, there are obvious disadvantages - during the spring floods of the Ob many areas of the township are underflooding. And in general, the township of Ilyich is a good illustration of how historical processes over a hundred years turn, if not an advanced, but rather lively and important district of the town into an almost forgotten urban outskirts.
