По плану, разработанному Министерством здравоохранения РСФСР в 1988 году, диагностический центр в Алтайском крае должен был появиться в 1992 году. Однако после развала СССР и сопутствующего кризиса, почти парализовавшего строительную отрасль, многие подобные планы если не отменялись, то оказывались в "подвисшем" положении. Тем удивительнее, что строительство краевого диагностического центра, начавшееся в 1992 году (хотя, фактически, в 1991 - строители тогда начали "снимать" два этажа недостроя, который предполагалось перепроектировать под центр), было закончено уже через год, и 2 июля 1993 года краевой диагностический центр был официально открыт. Период наибольшего расцвета центра, пожалуй, пришёлся на 2002-2016 годы, однако затем, с появлением новых крупных краевых медицинских учреждений и уходом с поста директора Владимира Лещенко, значимость и качество работы диагностического стали снижаться. На данный момент апофеозом проблем центра, вероятно, стали тяжёлые для всей медицинской отрасли, "ковидные", 2020 и 2021 год, в которых диагностический сотряс ряд громких скандалов, приведший в итоге к отставке тогдашнего руководителя центра.
According to the plan developed by the Ministry of Health of the RSFSR in 1988, a diagnostic center in the Altai Region was to appear in 1992. However, after the collapse of the USSR and the accompanying crisis, which almost paralyzed the construction industry, many of these plans, if not canceled, then found themselves in a "suspended" position. It is all the more surprising that the construction of the regional diagnostic center, which began in 1992 (although, in fact, in 1991 - the builders then began to "remove" two floors of the unfinished building, which was supposed to be redesigned for the center), was completed a year later, and on July 2, 1993, the regional diagnostic center was officially opened. The period of the greatest prosperity of the center, perhaps, fell on 2002-2016, but then, with the advent of new large regional medical institutions and the departure by Vladimir Leshchenko from the post of director, the significance and quality of the work in the center began to decline. At the moment, the apotheosis of the problems of the center has probably fell on "covid" 2020 and 2021, which were difficult for the entire medical industry. In these years series of high-profile scandals shook the diagnostic center, and that eventually led to the resignation of the head of the center.
