253. Памятный знак «Искусство принадлежит народу» / Memorial sign «Art belongs to the people»
1980 год был очень важным в культурной жизни Барнаула: во-первых, город готовился отмечать своё 250-летие, во-вторых, в июне-июле того же года он принимал V зональную художественную выставку "Сибирь социалистическая". В связи с этими двумя событиями шло активное украшение города. Большие силы были брошены и на преображение территории нынешней площади Сахарова. Именно тогда по проекту главного художника города Георгия Леонидовича Алексеева силами ленинградского отряда «Синтез» - выпускников и старшекурсников института имени И.Е.Репина (ныне - Санкт-Петербургская академия художеств имени И.Е.Репина) - был возведён и памятный знак «Искусство принадлежит народу», с одной стороны ставший как бы напоминанием о прошедшей выставке, а с другой - украсивший площадь перед празднованием 250-летия города. Кстати, во многих источниках почему-то годом возведения этой композиции неверно значится 1968. Вероятно, в какой-то момент возникла путаница с заложенной неподалёку к 50-летию комсомольской организации капсулой времени, а потом эта ошибка была растиражирована.
Кроме того, когда-то уже довольно давно, году в 2010, встретилась мне на просторах интернета одна очень похожая на байку история, связанная с этим монументом. Якобы он до того понравился какой-то дававшей в Барнауле концерт рок-группе (то ли "Наутилусу", то ли "Аквариуму", то ли ещё кому - это в моей памяти не удержалось), что музыканты сделали на фоне композиции коллективную фотографию, которая потом чуть ли не стала частью обложки (или вкладыша) к их очередному диску. Однако впоследствии никакого подтверждения данной истории мне найти не удалось, но, может, что-то всё-таки было?
1980 was very important year in the cultural life of Barnaul: firstly, the town was preparing to celebrate its 250th anniversary, and secondly, in June-July of the same year, it hosted the V zonal art exhibition "Socialistic Siberia". In connection with these two events, there was an active decoration of the town. Large forces were also thrown into the transformation of the territory of the current Sakharov's Square. It was then that, according to the project of the chief artist of the town Georgy Leonidovich Alekseev, by the forces of the Leningrad squad "Synthesis" - graduates and senior students of the Institute named after I.E. Repin (now the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts named after I.E. Repin) - a memorial sign "Art belongs to the people” was installed, which, on the one hand, became like a reminder of the past exhibition, and, on the other hand, decorated the square before the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the town. By the way, in many sources, for some reason, the year of construction of this composition is incorrectly listed as 1968. Probably, at some point there was confusion with the time capsule, which was laid near this place for the 50th anniversary of the Komsomol organization, and then this error was replicated.
In addition, once quite a long time ago, maybe in 2010, I met on the Internet one story very similar to a tale related to this monument. Allegedly, some rock band (either "Nautilus", or "Aquarium", or someone else - I couldn't keep it in my memory) that gave a concert in Barnaul liked this monument so much that the musicians took a collective photo with the composition as the backgound, and then this photo allegedly became part of the cover (or insert) for their next disc. However, later I could not find any confirmation of this story, but maybe there was something after all?
